Enum ColorHarmonyHueMode
Selects the color space a harmony rotation happens in, which decides how the derived colors compare in brightness and saturation to the base color.
Namespace: Scylla.Core.Util
Assembly: ScyllaCore.dll
Syntax
public enum ColorHarmonyHueMode
Remarks
The three modes rotate the same hue offsets and differ only in what they hold constant. Which one reads best depends on the palette: a set meant to be equally readable wants Oklch, a set meant to look equally vivid wants OkHSL.
The declaration order of these members is part of the type's contract. Editor tooling persists the selected value as a raw integer, so inserting or reordering members would silently remap an already-saved selection. Append new members at the end.
Fields
| Name | Description |
|---|---|
| HSV | Rotates hue in HSV, holding saturation and value fixed. The cheapest mode and the one that matches most color-wheel tools, but perceived brightness swings noticeably between hues, so yellows read far brighter than blues at the same value. |
| OkHSL | Rotates hue in Oklch while holding lightness and relative saturation fixed, where relative saturation means chroma as a fraction of the maximum the target hue can hold in sRGB. Every derived color is as vivid as its own hue allows, so nothing clips and the set looks evenly saturated rather than evenly numbered. |
| Oklch | Rotates hue in Oklch, holding lightness and chroma fixed. Every derived color keeps the base color's perceived brightness, so the set stays readable against a shared background. Hues whose gamut cannot hold the base chroma are clipped on conversion, which can flatten a saturated base color in the yellow and cyan regions. |
